Associated General Contractors of America

Associated General Contractors of America or know to the students of Iowa State as AGC. AGC does many Volunteer Projects through-out the community that deals with construction, like concrete and gravel pours for assisted living homes, building boat ramps, or just doing some landscaping. AGC also bring the ConE students at Iowa State together so they can get to know each other extremely well. They have varies cookouts, camping trip, and much more. AGC helps student get acquainted with the Construction field, how it works, what they do, and anything else that will help a student future professional career.

I join AGC for both of the personal reasons and professional reasons. I like the personal part of AGC because I can make lots of new friends who share the same interest/ major. Bond with friends already made that are also a part of AGC. Professionally, it looks good on a resume, plus it is really good experience to learn about the construction field. There is also the feel of doing good when volunteering at an assisted living home.

As a freshman, I can only get extremely involved in varies volunteering activities, social activities, and meetings but in future years I can become an officers and lead the ISU AGC club to success. That will someday help me land a job in the terrible economy market of today. Along with the experience to help me already know how to do that said job well, and get move up the chain faster.
